This policy explains what CallJanice does with personal information. We have written it in plain English rather than legal jargon, because it covers people who never signed up for anything — the customers who call your business.

The short version

Who we are

CallJanice is operated by Passionate LLC (“CallJanice”, “we”, “us”). We provide an AI voice receptionist that answers inbound phone calls for home-service businesses. Our website is calljanice.ai. You can reach us at [email protected].

This policy covers two different groups

It matters which one you are, because our role and your rights differ.

What we collect from subscribers

What we collect when someone calls a Janice number

When a caller reaches a business using CallJanice, the following is captured:

Callers should assume that anything said on the call is recorded and written down. Please do not read out card numbers, bank details, passwords, or medical or other sensitive information.

Calls are answered by an AI, and they are recorded

Janice is an automated system, not a human being. Conversations are processed by AI in order to understand speech, respond, and produce a transcript and summary.

California and several other states require that all parties consent before a call is recorded. Some jurisdictions also require disclosure when an automated system is used for commercial purposes. CallJanice provides the means to make that disclosure — the greeting each business configures — but the business operating the number is responsible for ensuring its greeting and its practices comply with the law where it and its callers are located. See our Terms of Service.

If you are a caller and you do not consent to being recorded, please say so and end the call. You can then contact the business by another method.

How we use information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not use your call recordings or transcripts to train the AI models of third parties.

We should be straightforward about one thing. Our website uses analytics and advertising tools from Google and Microsoft, and these send information about your visit — such as pages viewed, approximate location and a device identifier — to those companies. Under California law that counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out using the cookie banner on our site, or the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control linked in our footer.

This applies only to website browsing data. Call recordings, transcripts, message content and the details callers give Janice are never sent to advertising or analytics platforms.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers, each handling only what they need:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our Terms, to protect someone’s safety, or to a buyer if the business is sold (you would be told first). Some providers process data in the United States and, in some cases, elsewhere.

Messaging platforms (WhatsApp and Meta)

Janice can answer enquiries sent through WhatsApp as well as by phone. Where we use the WhatsApp Business Platform or other services provided by Meta, we receive only the information needed to handle that conversation — typically the sender’s WhatsApp phone number, their display name, and the messages they send us.

We use that information solely to answer the enquiry, capture the job details, and show the conversation to the business being contacted. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or ad targeting, build advertising profiles from it, or share it with data brokers. It is handled in line with this policy, and with Meta’s platform terms and developer policies.

Messages you send us through WhatsApp are stored alongside phone-call records and are subject to the same retention and deletion rules set out below.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, obtain a copy, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell personal information for money, and you can opt out of the advertising-related “sharing” described above at any time using our cookie banner. We will not treat you differently for exercising any right.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. If your request concerns a call you made to a business using Janice, we will forward it to that business, as they control that record.

How to request deletion of your data

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time, whether you are a subscriber or someone who contacted a business using Janice.

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Data deletion request”, and include the phone number or email address you used, so we can find your records. If you contacted us through WhatsApp, include that WhatsApp number.

We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may first need to verify your identity. Once complete we delete your account details, call and message records, transcripts, recordings and any summaries derived from them.

Two limits apply. We keep basic billing and tax records where the law requires it, and where your request concerns a conversation with a business using Janice, that business is the controller of its own copy — we will delete our copy and pass your request on to them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to those who need it, and payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant regulator where the law requires it.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies in three groups:

Analytics and advertising cookies are set only where you allow them. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner, or block cookies in your browser — though the account area needs the essential ones. None of these run inside phone calls or WhatsApp conversations; they apply to the website only.

Children

CallJanice is a business product and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is significant we will tell subscribers by email or in the dashboard. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
